Handmade Kyoto UCHIWA FAN with Kimono Fabric



This delicate fan comes from an old kimono store in Kyoto.

Scraps of vintage kimono fabrics have been used to decorate the fan's front surface and the intricate bamboo inner ribs were made by specialized fan craftsmen in Kyoto. A fine Washi paper supports the back and the handle is made out of light paulownia wood.

Totally handmade and unique, this fan is a beautiful way to enjoy the hot months to come.

Please note: Because different areas of the fabric has been used, each Uchiwa is unique and will differ slightly from the picture.
