The intricate details of this kimono are just spectacular, the damask, the golden highlights, and the long, feminine sleeves.
The deep mauve surface is decorated with a magical damask design of peonies, Japanese citrus, chrysanthemums, pine, plum blossoms, bamboo, paulownia and wisteria. Wrapping itself around this garden, ribbons of patterned fabric mix with royal carriages and flowing water.
Suddenly, a beautiful male peacock, in shades of deep crimson and outlined in gold appears on the botton panel. His white fan of feathers is fully spread amid red and white peonies and plum blossoms as he tries to attract an olive green female.
The lovely sleeves swing in the wind, revealing a bit of red as more flowers climb all over them. |
