A shimmering brown satin lines the inner layer of this smooth, black haori. Upon that lining, two fans open up, floating at the foot of an enormous, silver-capped Mt. Fuji in the background.
The fans depict two fascinating scenes upon their surfaces. The one in the back displays a long, thin bridge extending to a tranquil distant island, while a small boat sails underneath. The other fan shows a village in the distance with people in the foreground traveling through a forest towards the town. The tips of the buildings as well as the boughs of the pine trees extend from the fan, coming to life at the foot of Mt. Fuji.
Lining the shoulders of the outer layer, five family crests depict arrowhead blossoms upon the smooth, chic surface of this striking haori. |
