While a handsome pattern of fine vertical and horizontal lines occurs on the outer layer of this striking men's haori, the true treasure of this piece lies on the inner lining.
Upon the deep brown silk fabric of the lining, three large images come into view. A scene of Mt. Fuji woven in black and white on a grayish green background sits in the upper left area. Just below that image is a scene of grazing horses highlighted in gold, while the final sheet of paper depicts a poem describing falling persimmons. The signature and stamp of the artist has been sewn into all of these.
Above and below these three scenes are borders of mist stitched in golden thread. Hang this piece on your wall or enjoy it as part of your wardrobe; either way you will be in possession of a true work of art.
