Tie-dyed Salmon FURISODE KIMONO Romantic Peonies

While a shibori tie dying method has been used to create the salmon coloring upon this kimono, a faint damask pattern can still be seen at the surface.

That damask weave, made in a geometric floral pattern, rests underneath the waves of purple peonies that waft through the air as if on a gust of wind. Both high stylized and very real, the peonies are depicted in a range of forms, separated only by thin lines of gold.

Using the shirbori and damask techniques, along with the pictorial subject of the peonies, the very different areas of this kimono come together to make a truly amazing piece.
