The colors and patterns on this kimono are as fresh and crisp as the day it was painted.
It is truly beautiful, with tumbling flowers and hand-drums with red cords surrounding a Kicho that give such an elegant flowing movement to the design.
Kicho is a partition with draping cloths that was popularly used during the Heian period to divide rooms in the homes of the nobles and the upper-class.
The elegant cloths are richly decorated with colorful flowers, stylized waves and other traditional geometric patterns, with gorgeous facing cranes and phoenixes on the front left panel. The cranes and other chosen patterns on the front panels are embellished with fine hand embroidery.
The lining is a vivid red silk that will flash its exuberance to the onlooker. |
