| Light Black FUKUSA Cranes, Pine Trees & Chrysanthemums |

The repeat theme of flying cranes, a symbol of long-life and happiness, are seen among small pine trees and puffy chrysanthemums in alternating orders of gray, ice blue and a soft peach.
The light black background has a fine woven texture reminiscent to antique obi fabric and is framed with a fine, vivid orange-red silk that continues on the lining. This Fukusa has a light cotton padding adding a delightfully soft texture to the richly woven fabric.
What is Fukusa? Fukusa is a square shaped cloth made of two different fabrics sewn together at the four sides. The front is usually embellished with auspicious subject matters as Fukusa covers or wraps special gifts that are presented at special occasions like weddings. The attractive design, vivid colors and convenient square shape of Fukusa makes it an ideal display item for home or office. It is a perfect furniture accent and could be hung on a wall in any room, adding a tasteful Japanese element to your decor. |
