This is a postcard of Jizozaka in Yokohama, Japan in the early twentieth century.
Transport was still dependent on rickshaws and carriages at the time, but construction of new houses and brick buildings show glimpse of the rapidly growing cosmopolitan city.
This used postcard is postmarked in Charleston, SC on Dec 3, 1916 and was sent to Rome, NY. |
