| Antique Japanese Postcard: Tea House in Nagasaki |

This postcard depicts a tea house on the slope of Tagami in Nagasaki.
On the left corner is a woman with a baby and a white cat sitting on a bench and enjoying the mild southern climate.
The store sign is written in English reflecting the unique history of Nagasaki. Nagasaki opened its port to European and Asian traders in the sixteenth century, and despite Japan's isolation during the Edo period, Nagasaki has remained quite cosmopolitan. |
