The colours are bold against the black damask background with white shoulders with a damask rhombus pattern that refers to the water chestnut.
Spring green bamboo stems and leaves with orange and red plum blossom and large boughs of pines in orange, gold and red, with various rhombus and floral patterns, adorn the long sleeves and upper body.
The hem line is blessed with the message of long life with vividly coloured cranes with feathers of purple, red, green, pink, yellow, orange and white outlined with gold couching.
Surely, they also represent gaiety and happiness in their bright glory! They fly over bamboo and pines with the beloved chrysanthemum blossom used to decorate the pine boughs. The pattern continues on the inside hem line.
The upper lining is of pure ivory silk. The top to bottom of the graceful flowing sleeve measures 41 3/4 inches. |
