Woodblock Print, Book Cover Illustration, Time of Life

This attractive woodblock print originates from a rare Taisho period book "Soshimonyo Shu" (Collection of Edo Period Book Cover Illustration) published by Mariya-Gabo in 1926.

The illustration is printed on a Japanese Washi paper which is attached to a larger and thicker, plain Washi paper, with the book's title, author and (or) the artist's name shown along the design (some prints do not have any writings).

The whimsical pictures and patterns, very tastefully colored, tell a story of Japanese culture and tradition with a subtle sense of humor.

Grouped together or on its own, this woodblock print will be a beautiful enhancement to your home and a selective fine addition to your Japanese collection.
