This kimono has lots to offer you. Very pretty patterns of children with the looks of Kyoto dolls dressed as samurai and the other in a ritualistic attire carrying a 'Hoju' treasure ball.
There are damask weave patterns of checks and flowers on the beautiful maroon background which is decorated with large, abstract crackled patterns filled with minute pale blue dots, and flowers and geometric patterns rendered in resist stencil dye.
In addition to the layering of patterns and various techniques employed, this kimono has a wonderful, irresistibly soft texture. The lining shares the beautiful red tones, bright red on the upper section and an elegant burgundy on the lower section.
This kimono will be a fantastic addition to your collection of rare vintage kimonos. |
