A gorgeous flowing sleeve furisode kimono. Peonies in wonderful bright colours decorate richly gold leafed fans. Other fans are tie-dyed in brilliant red with intricate gold leaf floral patterns on a background tie-dyed throughout with auspicious bamboos.
A kimono of this magnitude is very likely to have been worn for a wedding maybe as a second dress for the bride after the formal ceremony.
The lower interior, sleeve openings and tips of sleeves are lined with a very noble purple silk with fret patterns in damask weave. The opening of the sleeves and the sleeve tips are lined with an additional red layer. Padded with light cotton along the hem.
This furisode is a real eye-opener and cannot stop enjoying the unique texture created by tie-dye.
Top to bottom of the sleeves measure 41 1/2 inches (105cm).
