Good times, prosperity and a sense of well being are indicated by the presence of the hand-drums, flute, fans and pine trees, and of course the phoenixes themselves.
Creating depth are the gentle earth tones against a cool black background. Notice the ornate patterns on the instruments as well as the fine gold embroidered accents around the phoenixes. The beautiful designs are also seen on the lower interior of this kimono.
The upper interior is lined with lightweight white silk and those of the sleeves with red silk. The hem and tips of sleeves are padded with light and soft cotton fillings. Five family crests highlight the upper exterior.
This beautiful kimono with very long flowing sleeves, will be an excellent addition to your antique kimono collection and is also in good wearable condition.
* Top to bottom of the sleeves measure approximately 39 1/2 inches (100cm). |
